Facebook and TikTok pixels
Measure your ads: paste your pixel ID in your shop settings and see which ads bring orders.
A pixel is a small piece of code from Facebook (Meta) or TikTok. It tells your ad account what people do in your shop after tapping your ad: which product they looked at, what they put in the cart, whether they ordered. With it, Facebook and TikTok show your ads to people more likely to buy, and you see which ad works.
For Facebook and Instagram ads:
- 1Open Meta Events Manager with the account you advertise with — it is easier on a computer.
- 2Choose your pixel, or create a new one for a website.
- 3Copy its ID: a number of 15–16 digits.
- 4In LaoCart, open “Settings” → “Marketing”, paste it into “Facebook Pixel ID” and press “Save”.
For TikTok ads:
- 1Open TikTok Ads Manager and go to the Events page for websites.
- 2Choose your pixel, or create a new one.
- 3Copy its ID: a code of letters and numbers, such as C1A2B3…
- 4In LaoCart, open “Settings” → “Marketing”, paste it into “TikTok Pixel ID” and press “Save”.
What your shop sends to Facebook: every page viewed, a product viewed (ViewContent), an item added to the cart (AddToCart), the order page opened (InitiateCheckout) and an order placed (Purchase), with the amount in kip. To TikTok: every page viewed.
To check that your pixel works:
- 1Open your shop on your phone, look at a product and add it to the cart.
- 2Wait about 20 minutes.
- 3Events Manager or TikTok Ads Manager then shows the visit and these events.
To stop: empty the field and press “Save”.
