Terms of service

These terms apply to everyone who creates a shop on LaoCart.

Last updated: 2026-09-17

If the languages differ, the Lao version is the one that counts.

Written in plain language, not by a lawyer

The LaoCart team wrote this page so it can be read and understood. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer. We prefer to say so, and we will update it once it has been.

1. What LaoCart provides

LaoCart rents you online-shop software: the storefront, the dashboard, media storage and the upkeep of the system. We open your shop once we have received the plan payment.

Ordinary support is the help centre. Work done for you — entering products, design — is a paid service, billed separately.

2. Your account

Give accurate details and keep your password to yourself. Whatever happens through your account, and through the people you invite into your team, is your responsibility.

3. Your shop and what you sell

You are the seller, not LaoCart. The products, the prices, the promises you make to a customer, delivery and taxes are all yours.

You sell under the law of the Lao PDR. Anything that is illegal in Laos may not be sold on LaoCart.

4. Money

LaoCart never holds your customers' money. They transfer straight to your account, or pay the courier in cash. We take no commission on your sales.

What you pay us is the plan, plus any optional service you order yourself — see the billing and refund terms.

5. Your photos and texts

The photos, videos and texts you upload stay yours. You only give us permission to store and display them so that your shop can work.

Do not upload someone else's photos or texts without their permission.

6. Availability

We work to keep the system running, but we cannot promise it will never be interrupted. There will be maintenance from time to time.

7. Suspension and closing

We may suspend or close a shop that sells something illegal, or that damages the system or other users. Where we can, we tell you first.

A shop that is not renewed closes as described in the billing terms.

8. Changes to these terms

When the terms change we publish the new version on this page with its date. For an important change we also send an e-mail.

9. Law and language

These terms follow the law of the Lao PDR. The Lao version is the one that counts.
