How do I open an online shop in Laos?
Short answer
Prepare three things: your products with photos and prices, a bank QR that can receive money (LAO QR / BCEL One) and a delivery company. Then build the shop on LaoCart — building is free, you pay only to open it, from 2,990,000 kip a year with no commission. Most shops are selling within a day.
What to prepare
- 1Your products, with photos (a phone is fine) and prices
- 2A bank account with a receiving QR (BCEL One / LAO QR) — customers scan it to pay
- 3The delivery company you use (Anousith, Mixay, Houng Aloun…), or cash on delivery
- 4The Facebook page or TikTok where your customers already are — no website needed beforehand
Build the shop (free)
Building costs nothing and asks for no card. You add products, a logo and colours, and look at your shop before deciding anything.
- 1Create an account with an e-mail and name your shop — it gets the address yourname.laocart.com
- 2Add products: photos, prices, colours, sizes (or import them from Excel)
- 3Add your logo, pick the colours, upload your payment QR and set the packing fee
- 4Open the shop on your phone and adjust until you like it
Opening, and what it costs
When you are ready to sell, pay the plan by QR and upload the slip — the shop opens within one working day. Basic is 2,990,000 kip a year (30 products), Starter 3,990,000 (50 products, video, your own domain possible), Pro 7,990,000 (unlimited products). No commission: what you sell goes straight to your bank account.
The law: E-Trust registration
After opening: bring the customers in
Put the shop link in your bio and in every post. Customers coming from Facebook or TikTok tap it and order without leaving the app. “How much is this?” and “where is my parcel?” disappear, because the price, the stock and a tracking code are on the shop.
Common questions
Do I need a registered company first?
LaoCart does not ask for a company registration — a bank account with a QR is enough to take payments. What the law asks of you (E-Trust registration) is a separate duty: check it with the authority concerned.
How much does it cost?
Building is free. Opening the shop costs from 2,990,000 kip a year, with no commission on sales.
Do I need to be good with computers?
No. If you can use Facebook, you can use LaoCart — or let us add your products for you as a paid service.
The prices on this page come straight from LaoCart's price list and are always the current ones. See the price table
